Thomas Fingar

Thomas Fingar è Oksenberg-Rohlen Distinguished Fellow presso la Stanford University.

Dal 1985 al 2008 ha ricoperto diversi incarichi presso il Dipartimento di Stato e l’Intelligence Community statunitense. Dal 2001 al 2003, in qualità di Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Research, è stato a capo della struttura di intelligence del Dipartimento di Stato. Dal 2005 al 2008, come Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Analysis, ha ristrutturato le procedure analitiche della Comunità di Intelligence americana. Come Chairman del National Intelligence Council (DNI) è stato uno dei responsabili del rapporto “Global Trends 2025”. Thomas Fingar ha conseguito il Ph.D in Scienze Politiche presso l’Università di Stanford.

Other Experience

1986-2008
Regular, and increasingly frequent, meetings with and hearings before members of Congress. Most were in closed session, but several required unclassified testimony and Statements for the Record, some of which are cited in my list of publications. During this period I also participated in many State Department “Town Meetings” for the American public and met with hundreds of foreign officials in Washington or during official travel to approximately 80 countries.

1975-1985
While at Stanford, I served as a consultant to the Department of State, the Department of Defense, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, SRI International, SAIC, Atlantic Richfield, and numerous other organizations.
